Shri Amarnath Yatra: Over 32,313 devotees offer prayers at holy Cave Shrine

New Delhi (Raghwendra Pratap Singh): The annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra has witnessed an encouraging start this year, with 32,313 devotees offering prayers at the holy Cave Shrine during the first two days of the pilgrimage. 20,145 pilgrims performed darshan at the revered cave shrine on the second day of the yatra, registering a notable increase over the 14,515 devotees who visited the shrine on the corresponding second day last year.

The second day’s pilgrims included 14,611 men, 4,480 women, 379 children, 142 sadhus, 35 Sadhvis, 17 transgender devotees, and 481 security personnel. With this, the cumulative number of devotees who have paid obeisance at the shrine since the commencement of the Yatra has reached 32,313. Meanwhile, the fourth batch of pilgrims undertaking the annual Yatra departed from the Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas in Jammu early today under tight security arrangements.

The batch comprises 6731 pilgrims travelling in 291 vehicles. Of them, 4,131 pilgrims in 139 vehicles are heading towards the traditional Pahalgam route, while 2,590 pilgrims in 152 vehicles are proceeding via the shorter Baltal route. The pilgrimage is being conducted amid elaborate security and logistical arrangements, with authorities ensuring the smooth movement of pilgrims and providing all necessary facilities along both routes.
