PM Modi joins President Murmu in Odisha to inaugurate projects worth over Rs 47,600 crore

Bhuvneshwar ( The Indian View team) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said tribal communities are emerging as active participants in India’s development journey, empowered by a range of welfare and outreach initiatives of the Centre.

Addressing a large public gathering at Rairangpur in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district to mark completion of two years of the Mohan Charan Majhi Government, he said decades of deprivation faced by tribal populations are being replaced by new opportunities in education, healthcare, livelihoods and social advancement.

The Prime Minister praised the Odisha Government for its achievements during two years in office and said the State is witnessing rapid progress under the leadership of Mr Majhi. On the occasion, he inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for development projects worth more than 47,000 crore rupees and reiterated the Centre’s Purvodaya vision aimed at accelerating the development of Eastern India.

During his speech, Mr Modi also extended his birthday greetings to President Droupadi Murmu, who was present at the meeting and described it as a privilege to visit her village, Pahadpur in Mayurbhanj district earlier in the morning.

Noting that a daughter of Mayurbhanj today occupies the nation’s highest constitutional office, he announced that Pahadpur would soon be developed as a Surya Gram, powered by renewable energy and equipped with modern public infrastructure.
