Famous writer Salman Rushdie turns 78 today celebrating his birthday

New Delhi (Raghwendra Pratap Singh) : Salman Rushdie is a British Indian novelist and essayist. He was born in Bombay and has a British citizenship. Known for blending reality with fiction, The Times ranked him thirteenth on its list of the fifty greatest British writers.

His popular novels are: Midnight’s Children which was written in 1981. The novel won the Booker Prize in 1981. Satanic Verses was published in 1988. It provoked Muslims in various countries. He even received death threats from the Supreme Leader of Iran and following that he was put under police protection by the British Government.
