Yogi government cabinet descision: Proposal approved for increasing the fees of State Law Officers

Lucknow ( Raghwendra Pratap Singh) :

In the Cabinet meeting, approval was granted to the proposal for increasing the retainership and per-hearing fees payable to State Law Officers. This decision has been taken with the objective of ensuring effective representation in cases and legal proceedings related to the Government of Uttar Pradesh.

State Law Officers empanelled on behalf of the State Government in various District Courts, the Allahabad High Court, the Lucknow Bench, and the Supreme Court, New Delhi, play an important role in safeguarding the interests of the State and providing effective legal representation.

At present, the retainership and appearance fees payable to them were being determined on the basis of government orders issued 10 to 15 years ago. Considering changing times, increasing professional responsibilities, and the growing complexity of judicial processes, the State Government has decided to enhance these fees.

This decision of the Yogi Government will encourage experienced and competent advocates and will help ensure more effective representation of the State Government’s position in various courts.

According to the Cabinet decision, the necessary action in this regard will be undertaken by the Justice Department.
