Lucknow Metro is set to expand its reach beyond the capital city into surrounding areas over the next 10 years. According to the survey report by the UP Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC), an expansion of around 150 kilometers is proposed for the metro network, under which 7 to 10 new corridors will be developed.

As part of this expansion plan, preparations are underway to provide metro connectivity to Barabanki, along with most parts of Lucknow. UPMRC has completed the survey and submitted the report to the government, and the DPR (Detailed Project Report) for these corridors will be prepared soon.

On the instructions of the government, UPMRC conducted a detailed survey of the city’s major routes to prepare the action plan for the metro expansion.

The report, prepared on the basis of the survey, was sent to the government on Friday. The report proposes building 7 to 10 corridors on various routes, which will collectively span around 150 kilometers.
