Centre, Bihar government to launch ₹170 crore technology hub for MSMEs in Gaya
Patna ( The Indian View team) : Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Jitan Ram Manjhi and Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary will jointly lay the foundation stone of a new Technology Centre at Khizarsarai in Gaya district on June 15.
The ₹170-crore facility is expected to emerge as a major hub for skill development, advanced manufacturing and industrial support services, benefiting MSMEs across southern Bihar and the historic Magadh region.
According to the Ministry of MSME, the foundation stone-laying ceremony will begin with a traditional Bhoomi Pujan. Senior officials from the Union Ministry and the Bihar government are also expected to attend the event.
The Technology Centre will be established on a 20-acre plot provided by the Bihar government and will involve an investment of approximately ₹170 crore, including around ₹86 crore for civil works and ₹84 crore for plant and machinery. The facility will have a built-up area of nearly 16,800 square metres and will comprise a production block, training block, utility block, administrative block, multipurpose hall, hostel and staff accommodation.
The Centre will focus on key sectors such as general engineering, heavy engineering and textile testing, addressing the technological and skill requirements of industries and MSMEs in the region.The facility is expected to cater to enterprises located in Gaya, Aurangabad, Nawada, Nalanda, Jehanabad and Munger districts by providing access to advanced manufacturing technologies, technical services and industry-oriented training programmes.
