Indian national dies aboard vessel at Oman’s Duqm Port; repatriation process underway

New Delhi (Raghwendra Pratap Singh) : The Embassy of India in Oman has said that an Indian national, Nishanth Uirthanathan, passed away due to medical complications and that efforts are underway to repatriate his mortal remains to India at the earliest.

According to a statement issued by the Embassy and reposted by Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, the deceased’s mortal remains are currently onboard the vessel MT Celestial at Duqm Port in Oman.

The Embassy said it has been maintaining continuous contact with the ship management company and is coordinating closely with all concerned stakeholders to facilitate the repatriation process.
