Lucknow (Raghwendra Pratap Singh) : <\/strong>In the Cabinet meeting of the Yogi Government, approval was granted for projects related to the construction of new district jails in five districts of the state – Moradabad, Kanpur Nagar, Auraiya, Lalitpur, and Bhadohi. The total cost of these projects will exceed Rs 1460 crore. The objective of the Government is to reduce overcrowding in prisons, provide better facilities for inmates, and make prison administration more modern and systematic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the decision, a new district jail with a capacity of 2000 inmates will be constructed in Moradabad at a cost of Rs 386.91 crore, a jail with a capacity of 2030 inmates will be constructed in Kanpur Nagar at a cost of Rs 384.05 crore, and a jail with a capacity of 1056 inmates will be constructed in Auraiya at a cost of Rs 264.96 crore. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similarly, a new jail with a capacity of 552 inmates will be constructed in Lalitpur at a cost of Rs 225.06 crore, while a new jail with a capacity of 574 inmates will be constructed in Bhadohi at a cost of Rs 209.18 crore. The construction of these new prisons will provide a better environment for inmate accommodation, security, healthcare, and reformative activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These proposals also received approval: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Approval was granted to the MoU for a Cow Shelter and Animal Service Centre in Jhansi. Animal welfare activities will be operated with the support of a private institution on 5 acres of land belonging to the Animal Husbandry Department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Approval was granted for the transfer of ESI hospitals in Kanpur. The Pandunagar Hospital, operated by the State Government, will be handed over to the Government of India, while the Jajmau Hospital, operated by the Government of India, will be transferred to the State Government.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
