Uttar Pradesh PWD Proposes Rs 256-Crore Road Upgrade Plan For Gautam Budh Nagar

The Public Works Department (PWD) has drawn up an ambitious infrastructure plan for Gautam Budh Nagar for 2026-27, proposing road widening, bridge construction and rural connectivity projects worth over Rs 313 crore in total outlay, the Hindustan Times reported, citing officials.
The action plan covers widening and strengthening of nearly 79 km of roads, construction of over 62 km of rural roads and development of minor bridges to enhance connectivity and ease traffic movement.
Officials have not yet disclosed the specific road stretches earmarked for the work. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted a review of development works on Wednesday (20 May), directing officials to ensure timely completion with adherence to quality benchmarks.
To improve road condition and connectivity, widening and strengthening works covering 78.770-kms of roads have also been proposed at an estimated cost of Rs 256.15 crore. Additionally, construction of minor bridges spanning 124 metres has been proposed at an estimated cost of Rs 11.21 crore to improve traffic movement,” the DM said in a statement.
