Tripura CM to inaugurate Agartala Civil Hospital soon: Health Secy

Agartala ( The Indian View team) : Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha will inaugurate Agartala Civil Hospital in the heart of the city soon to reduce the growing pressure on two referral hospitals of the state – GBP Hospital and IGM Hospital, a top Health department official said on Friday.
The development comes in the backdrop of a ban on private practice by faculty members and medical officers of GBP Hospital and Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC).
“Chief Minister Manik Saha has decided to open Agartala Civil Hospital for the people living in Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) area. All infrastructures are now ready at the proposed Agartala Civil Hospital. The facility will be inaugurated by the chief minister soon”, Health and Family Welfare Secretary Kiran Gitee told reporters.
According to him, the hospital equipped with all modern treatment facilities, will have 50 beds to cater to the primary needs of urban people.
“As many as 60 medical officers and allied staff have been posted at the Agartala Civil Hospital. Work is underway to set up an oxygen plant, power backup system and other basic facilities,” he said.
