Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati, the Shankaracharya of Jyotirmath (Uttarakhand), leads a multifaceted movement to stop cow slaughter and beef exports. His efforts span digital tech, mass grassroots mobilization, political ultimatums, and public advocacy. He frequently organizes large-scale, state-wide marches and religious campaigns to rouse public awareness.
He has led a fierce advocacy movement demanding that the Indian government officially declare the cow as Rashtra Mata (Mother of the Nation) or Rajya Mata.
He has proposed building Ramadhams (cow shelters housing 100 cows each) in every assembly constituency, and has demanded that the government implement a dedicated emergency ambulance service (like ‘108’) for cows.
