Transparent recruitment has restored youth’s faith in govt: Mizoram CM

Aizawl ( The Indian View team) : Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma on Saturday said transparent and merit-based recruitment has restored the confidence of the state’s youth in the government, asserting that public service should be entrusted only to deserving candidates.

Addressing the passing-out parade of the 70th batch of police constables at the Police Training School (PTS) in Thenzawl in Serchhip district, he said all 275 recruits had secured their appointments solely on merit through a fair and competitive recruitment process, without political influence or favouritism.

The government’s recruitment policy is guided by the principle of ‘Equality for All’. We expect qualified personnel to deliver quality service to the people, and the government will fearlessly reject unqualified candidates,” Lalduhoma said.

He said the performance of serving personnel would also be regularly reviewed to ensure efficiency and accountability.

Emphasising the role of the police in maintaining peace and public confidence, the CM said an efficient and professional police force is essential for a peaceful society. The conduct and quality of service of police personnel enhance the image of the state, reassure the public and strengthen people’s trust in the government,” he said.

Lalduhoma urged the newly inducted constables to uphold justice impartially, enforce the law without bias and maintain the highest standards of integrity, saying the government’s guiding principle is the establishment of justice and the rule of law.
